Title: Shatter
Rating: R
Pairing: JAVEY
Summary: Jade likes watching people shatter (vamp)
Disclaimer: I don't own them...yet...

I walked down the dark street, feeling bored. I hat yet to find prey that appealed to me. Lately the trill of hunting had become boring. I wanted to destroy something perfectly beautiful. And it wasn’t about physical beauty. There was nothing more amusing than looking into someone’s eyes and watching their soul shatter like glass. The only problem was there was no one in this town like I wanted. All that seemed to be left were cut throats and murderers. One’s with tainted souls.

As I turned the corner, a very pretty mortal came into view. H stood there alone, in vinyl and fishnet, his ebony hair flowing down his back like liquid silk. Probably a prostitute. I moved closer, staying hidden, intrigued by this creature. He stood under a streetlamp and I could see his face clearly. Black kohl was applied around his eyes to perfection and smoky grey shadow accented his chocolate eyes. I could hear his heart beating fast and could practically taste the blood flowing through him. Feeling a pang of hunger, I stepped out of the shadows. He jumped in surprise and I smirked a little. I moved close to him. What was another dead whore to this city?

“How much?” I asked, my voice dripping with lust. He looked at me confused.

“Huh?”

I laughed and stroked his cheek.

“How much for you’re…company?”

“Oh!” His eyes widened. “I’m not…I mean I don’t…” he stammered, blushing.

“You aren’t a prostitute?” The mortal shook his head. And now is the time in this story where if I were able, I’d be blushing uncontrollably.

“Straight edge.” He held up his hand, showing two black X’s. “I just left a club.” He added as if trying to explain his outfit.

“I’m sorry!” I cried. Why the hell was I apologizing? He was just a meal.

He laughed a little. His voice was like music too me. I cursed myself for thinking that. He’s just a stupid human. I looked up at him and his eyes sparkled in the light. I smiled to myself. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe there are some innocents here.

“What’s your name?” I asked him.

”Davey Havok.”

He held out a hand to shake mine. I took it, lifting his hand to my lips, kissing the back. He blushed again, smiling at me.
“It’s a pleasure meeting someone as beautiful as you Davey.” If possible his face turned even pinker. How adorable.

“Do I get to know yours?”

“Jade.”

He nodded smiling. His hand was in mine and I could tell he had his guard down. I seized the opportunity and yanked him into the alley, covering his mouth. He struggled and tried to kick me away, but I had him pinned against the wall in a matter of seconds. Grabbing a fistful of hair, I pulled his head roughly to side. I licked up his neck seductively, feeling his pulse throbbing. I sank my fang into his snow white flesh, moaning in pleasure as I lapped at the crimson liquid. He cried out, begging me to stop. I drank enough of him, causing him to faint. I healed up the wound and scooped my new toy into my arms. Who knows? Maybe I’ll let Synester and Shadows play with him too.

I laughed to myself as I reached the manor gates. The first thing I saw was our little pet being chased down by my two other companions. I stuck my foot out, tripping the teenaged boy. He whimpered, scrambling back up. But it was too late. Syn and Shads had caught up. Eyes flashing, Syn grabbed the trembling mortal by the throat, lifting him off the ground.

“You’ve been a very bad pet, Zacky!” he growled, throwing him to the ground. He kicked him in the ribs, earning a whimper.

“I leave for an hour and everything is chaos.” I said chuckling. Shadows looked up at me and grinned.

“What can I say? We like the feisty ones.” We both laughed and watched as the teen was beaten and carried off to the manor. “And who is the pretty little thing in your arms?”

I smirked.

“A pet of my own”

Chapter Two: "Waiting For Life/A The Gods Heard His Prayer/Rain"

Sweet as a eucalyptus and terrible as a tempest. Banging a drum and humming a tune. Ti Moune. Falling and running and calling and growing... up too soon...

Before they knew it, their sweet little boy had grown up. No longer small, Gerard was now an independent young man with his own unique personality. He constantly wandered around the village, day dreaming about one thing or another.

"Gerard! Come in for dinner!" Claudio shouted from the porch one night.

But, of course, Gerard heard nothing. The boy simply stared up at the stars. Tony stepped onto the porch, standing next to his partner.

"Don't bother, Claudio," he said with a sad sigh. "He can't hear you."

Claudio frowned, wrapping his arm around Tony's waist. "He's too far gone," he said, pointing to the dreamy expression on their son's face.

The two stood there, watching Gerard. Claudio broke their silence with another sigh.

"I never knew how hard this would be."

Tony arched his brow in question. "What do you mean?"

"This! Raising Gerard. He's a good boy, don't mistake me." He frowned. "I mean letting go."

He pulled away from Tony and began to pace back and forth. "I knew he was getting older. It's meant to be, that's how life is! It's just..."

Claudio stopped, another sigh escaping. Tony walked to where he stood and pressed himself agaisnt Claudio's broad chest. Both wrapped their arms around each other.

"Just wish we could keep him so small," Tony said softly.

Claudio nodded. His gaze rested on the tree. Gerard's tree. In his mind, he could still see the tiny boy clinging to it's strong branches.

"No matter how big he gets, he'll always be our little boy from the tree."

* * *

That next day, the peasants began their work in the fields as they always have. Claudio and the other men cut the sugarcane, while Tony helped some of the women plant new vegetable gardens. Gerard, who was supposed to be picking fruit, had found himself in another daydream.

As he walked by the beach, a loud sound caught his attention. It was unlike anything he'd ever heard, like the roar of a tiger. Gerard looked up just in time to see a white car drive by. The man in the driver's seat made Gee stop in his tracks. Long, black hair, blue eyes, and a bit of stubble on his face. Before Gerard could do anything other than stare, the stranger was gone.

"That's got to be amazing," Gerard said. "He can go anywhere he wants, whenever he wants! So much better than this..."

Gerard began to follow the road in the direction the car went. On his walk, he began to think aloud.

"Mama's content with things, and Tonton just takes it as it comes. They're happy with what they've got and where they are. But with me, I think I'm supposed to be in the stranger's place!"

Gerard smiled dreamily. He imagined the long haired stranger pulling up beside him and him climbing inside and the two of them driving away. The sight of his small hut brought him out of the dream. Sighing, he walked over to his tree and sat down underneath it. His eyes looked up towards the Heaven's.

"Oh Gods, please be there? Don't you remember your little Ti Moune from the tree? Please! Look down and listen to me! You can't just single me out and then forget about me!"

A glisten in the sky gave Gerard the boldness to go on.

"Gods, please! Take me to places no one else has been. You spared my life, so please tell me why! You get me so excited, then tell me to wait... Well, I am waiting."

He sighed again, shutting his eyes.

"I'm waiting for life to begin," he whispered before falling asleep.

After their day of work, Claudio and Tony returned to their hut. Seeing their sleeping boy, Claudio picked him up and placed him in his bed.

And, high in the Heaven's, he Gods hear his prayers. a great, knee-slapping laughter erupted from the all-mighties.

"The peasant boy wants a grande homme to carry him away!" David said, voice thick with amusement. "Why, I should pick the biggest mango off those trees and-"

"A juicy mango!" Paul said excitedly.

David began to speak again, but Vilhelm beat him to it.

"A lovely mango!"

"A poison mango!" Timothy interjected, interrupting David once more.

The Father of the Earth glared at the other three. They laughed amongst themselves. Vilhelm then grew quiet, a confused look coming to his face.

"Wait," he said. Turning to David, he cocked his head to one side. "What are we going to do with a mango?"

The other two nodded and muttered their agreement, looking at David. David too ka deep breath to regain control of his temper before talking.

"We'll drop the mango and knock some sense in his head!"

"Knock some sense in his head!" The laughed in agreement.

"Splash him with a wave!" Paul chuckled.

"Scare him half to death!" Timothy cackled.

"Give him what he wants," Vilhelm said softly.

The three others laughed, quickly quieting when they realized what their companion had said. Each turned and looked at him in disbelief.

"Come again?" Timothy asked, arching his brow.

"Give him what he wants!" Vilhelm said. "Love has many powers if it's true love."

"It can cross the earth," he said to David.

"Stand against the storm," to Paul.

He smirked and turned to Timothy. "It can conquer even you."

"Bullshit," Timothy scoffed. "I can stop his heart like that!"

He raised his fingers to snap. David's eyes widened and he dove for Timothy.

"No!" he grabbed his hand. "Bad things happen when you do that!"

"Like what?" Timothy sneered.

"Remember last time?" David said.

Paul's face fell visibly. "That poor old woman..."

"She was 97! She was going to die anyway!" Timothy said defensively.

"Says you!" David yelled.

"You little shit!" Timothy growled, pulling David into a headlock.

The two fought for awhile, Paul and Vilhelm watching.

"Actually," Paul said. "It is says him."

The Demon and the Father paused, looking at each other.

"Oh," David said, pulling away.

"As I was saying, his heart can stop when I say," Timothy said to Vilheml.

"You can stop it from beating, yes, but not from loving," Vilhelm said. "Not if love is what he chooses."

The three other Gods looked at each other, thinking.

"That's rediculous!" Timothy scoffed.

"But it's interesting," Paul smiled.

"It's more amusing than mangos," David shrugged.

The four then began to pace in a circle, trying to think up a plan. They came up with one, then quickly rejected it. Repeating the process a couple of times before their eyes widened.

"A journey!" they all said.

"I'll give him the strength," Vilhelm said. "When the time is right."

"I'll guide his way," David nodded.

"I will make him choose!" Timothy smirked.

"And I'll provide the place, where two different worlds will meet tonight," Paul said sternly.

"Tonight," they all agreed.

Paul stood on the edge of their kingdom, looking down at the world below them.

"Let the moon disappear behind the clouds," he said strongly. "And where the road meets the sea, let the tide be high."

Below him, the sky grew dark. Clouds took over, blocking out the moon entirely. The waves in the ocean crashed against the shore. In the tiny hit, Gerard woke up to the sound of waves.

"Let there be the boy, walking by the sea. And let there be rain!"

Gerard walked out of his house as the rain began to pour. He wandered down the road.

"We're hearing your prayers, child don't worry. But, be careful. The rain on the road makes it a dangerous place!"

The car drove up the road. The same white car driven by the same stranger Gerard had seen earlier.. Gerard's eyes widened in excitement and he ran to follow the car.

"Let there be a car racing through the night. And where the road meets the sea, let him wait, and let the stranger spin! Let their fate begin in the rain!"

As the stranger rounded the bend, his tires lost their traction against the wet road. Losing control, the stranger crashed into Gerard's tree.

Where the sea sparkling earns it the name Jewel of Antilles. Where the poorest of peasants labor and the wealthiest of grands hommes play. Two different worlds on one island.

On this island the poor peasant village was ruled by four powerful and very temperamental gods. David, Father of the Earth. Paul, God of Water. Vilhelm, beautiful God of Love. And Timothy, sly Demon of Death!

And on the other side of this island lived the grande hommes, safe and secluded behind high walls and strong, iron gates. They drank fine wines, entertained tourists, and had servants do their every chore.

Two completely different worlds, never meant to meet each other.

This tale begins on the night of a horrible storm. Many houses were washed away by Paul's angry waters. Many died. Yet, a tiny little boy caught his attention. He had been ripped from his mother's arms and now clung desperately to a rock. Paul took pity on the child and lifted him out of the freezing waters, placing him in David's large tree, carefully protected. The boy sat there wet, terrified, and crying all night.

Slowly, but surely, the waters receded and the sun shown bright. Two humble peasants walked along the beach cautiously. They didn't have much but were happy with what they had and thankful to be alive.

"Oh, Claudio! The Gods are happy again!" Tony said, leaning his head on his lover's shoulder. "See how David smiles down on us."

Claudio let out a small laugh and kissed Tony's hand.

"He smiles today, but last night he was so angry that he nearly took our poor heads off!"

Tony playfully slapped Claudio's arm and sat on the ground under a large tree. He motioned for Claudio to sit next to him.

"Shush, Claudio. Just listen to the birds!" he exclaimed. Indeed the bird chirped happily, but through their songs another noise reached their ears.

"Waaaah!"

The peasant couple looked up surprised and confused.

"What kind of bird is that?"

Scaning the tree's large branches, Tony spotted the trembling child.

"Claudio look!" He cried, pointing. "A tiny boy!"

Claudio followed his lover's gaze, shocked that someone so small could reach that high.

"What's your name little one? Why are you up there?"

The boy said nothing. He clung tighter to the tree, still crying.

"The poor thing can't speak," Tony said, frowning.

Claudio pointed to the Heavens.

"Paul probably meant to kill him," he said, shrugging.

"Then he'd already be dead," his lover replied.

"He could have forgotten"

"The Gods never forget!"

The two sat there, trying to think of any reason that he would be up there.

"There's got to be a reason why he was spared," Tony concluded. He went to climb up to the sniffling child, but Claudio gently grabbed his arm.

"Tony, we don't have any room or enough food for a child." He said softly. Tony nodded sadly and the two began to walk away.

The were almost out of sight of the tree before a strange feeling took over them. They just couldn't leave this child. Looking at each other, they both smiled.

"Vilhelm's ways are a bit confusing," Claudio said with a smirk.

The two turned back to the tree and walked over. Claudio helped Tony into the tree, where he picked the boy up...

"Noooooo!" The boy cried, struggling against Tony.

And discovered he could speak after all. Getting safely out of the tree, they took him back to their little home.

They named the boy Gerard, but on occasions, they called him Ti Moune. Their hut was a little crowded and food was a tad scarce, but Gee made their lives hold more worth. Every day, little Gee would play around the tree they found him in. Both of his parents could feel a strong presnece of the gods in the child. More than likely, it had been this force that drew them to him. He was a fast learner, able to read and write by his 6th birthday. The boy seemed to have the invincability of the gods, as well. Gerard was constantly climbing to the top of his tree, or jumping off rocks into the ocean to swim. Tony was often scared sick by him, which Claudio earned some sick amusement from. All around, though, he was an awfully good child.

"What does Ti Moune mean?" Gerard asked one night as his parents tucked him into bed.

"It means 'sweet little orphan,' " Tony said softly.

"Why do you call me that?" Gee asked, scrunching his face up a little in confusion.

"You're our sweet little orphan, Gerard. We found you and now your life is forever in our care," claudio explained.

"Why did you save me? I'm not that special?" the boy looked up at his parents.

"The gods willed it, dear. They're obviously saving you for something special," Tony smiled, brushing some jet black hair out of Gerard's face.

"But what is it?"

"Ti Moune, if we knew why the gods do what they do, we would be gods ourselves," Claudio said with a laugh.

Gerard nodded a little. A bit more content with this finding that he was before, the boy laid down.

"Someday," he paused for a yawn. "I'll ask them."

Tony and Claudio watched as their son fell asleep. The two sat beside him for awhile, Tony rubbing his back and Claudio watching.

"The best place to ask is in dreams," Tony said softly.

One at a time, they both leaned down and planted a kiss on the boy's face. Taking each other's hands, they then retreated to their own bed.

----------

Thats chapter one! please Read and review!

K.
